| 6th July 2008 | Can mouth cancer kill?Mouth cancer actually causes as many deaths as skin and cervical cancers. There are around 4,000 new cases of mouth cancer in the UK every year, and mouth cancers account for between 1% and 4% of all cancer cases. 1,700 of the patients diagnosed with mouth cancer will die as a result. Unfortunately, the number of new cases of mouth cancer is on the increase. However, if the cancers were caught early enough, the death rate could be drastically reduced. |
