What does orthodontic treatment involve?

Treatment varies according to the type of problem and takes anywhere between six months and two years to complete.

There are basically two types of braces - fixed and removable. A fixed brace is glued to the teeth by your orthodontist and is not removed until treatment is complete. Removable braces can be removed for cleaning and contact sport. Your orthodontist will see you every six to eight weeks throughout your treatment period to adjust the braces.
